Day 1 - Macinaggio

Arrive into Bastia. After a taxi ride to Macinaggio (at a supplement) you settle into the hotel. Macinaggio is a delightful port to the north of Bastia and the harbour of Rogliano. Take it easy by the pool at the hotel or take the historical path to discover the village, before heading out to dinner in one of the delightful restaurants in this sleepy seaside village. Stay at a 3* Hotel, Macinaggio on a B&B basis.  Choice of restaurants in Macinaggio.

6km, 2h30, +250m, -250m.

Day 2 - Barcaggio to Macinaggio

You follow the Customs Officers' path or Chemin des Douaniers around the remote Cap Corse, you pass naturally preserved beaches and abandoned watchtowers witness to the battles that were fought for this island. The walking is captivating through a wild and natural landscape, boat at end of the day to Macinaggio, your stop again for the night. Stay at a 3* Hotel, Macinaggio on a B&B basis.

13km, 3h30, +315m, -315m.

Day 3 - Barcaggio to Centuri

Transfer at the beginning of the day to Barcaggio at the top of the Cap Corse. The path is more challenging from here on in, as you head around the coastal cliffs from Barcaggio. The west coast of the Cap Corse has high grey cliffs that plunge into the sea, the path hugs the relief from here. At the end of the day you arrive at the sleepy harbourside hotel in Centuri, your nightstop on HB basis.

12km, 4h30, +585m, -585m.

Day 4 - Centuri to Seneque

The walk today takes in some of the more remote paths of the Cap Corse. You climb hamlet to hamlet, past chapels, churches and convents, all the way to the ridge at Notre Dame des Graces, following on from here along the ridge you will have views across the Cap Corse, before reaching Seneque, and your overnight stop. Stay at a Chambres d'hôtes, in Luri on a HB basis, picnic for tomorrow.

13km, 5h00, +900m, -500m.

Day 5 - Seneque to Canari

From Seneque, the walk continues on this ridge, high above the villages that nestle along the coast. The views are simply stunning, and it is easy to sea why people call this the island within the island. Passing menhirs and abandoned hamlets that are testament to the peoples of this land, you descend to the village of Canari, where you stay at a Chambres d'hôtes, in Canari on a B&B basis, dinner at a local restaurant.

14km, 5h00, +850m, -950m.

Day 6 - Canari to Nonza

From Canari, we head further south, the scenery is dramatic and contrasting, crossing a genoese bridge before we reach the hamlet of Ogliastro. From here the scenery changes as you drop down to the coast and the village of Nonza, with its dark pebble beach and Pisan tower. The village is the perfect picture postcard. Transfer to St Florent for your last night on a B&B basis.

13km, 5h30, +650m, -780m.

The Cap Corse walk was the best of the three walks we have done with you, as you had the contrast between the Coastal Path for the first 2 days and then up onto the ridge for amazing views either side for the next 3 days. The hotels were all very acceptable. Very friendly people and food was excellent especially at Centuri.

All hotels good and food excellent. Bags always waiting for us on arrival. Taxi service - excellent driver who was more like a tour guide as she stopped at several viewpoints to allow us to take photos and told us some interesting facts about the areas we travelled through.

Some of the finest walking we've ever done. Everything went without a hitch and the Cap Corse itinerary was fabulous. Some minor issues but overall it was fabulous. I would happily have gone back to the start and done it all again!

It was good to have a variety of different accommodation types. They were all in good locations and linked well with the walking route. The taxi driver (Martine) was excellent. A real asset to the holiday. Always punctual, informative and patient with our French. She was very friendly and enhanced our holiday experience.Generally all breakfasts were good. The evening meal at Hotel au Bon Clocher was very good. We enjoyed the home cooked food at Gite de Seneque and her picnic was also excellent. The service started off a little slow at Hotel de la Jetee, but it improved and the food was good. The stages were pitched at the right level for us. A gentle start, with some challenging but achievable walks. Excellent value for money. The service response from Nicola was very good. She replied to all queries before our holiday in an incredibly prompt and efficient manner. We felt this excellent service continued throughout the holiday, with all arrangements running smoothly. Many thanks for all your help and assistance. It was a great holiday.
