Drive and Hike - GR20 South

Arrival at your accommodation in the village of Zonza, at the foot of the Aiguilles de Bavella. We suggest you discover the last section of the GR 20. From the Col de Bavella, hike through the heart of the Bavella forest to the Paliri refuge. Enjoy the beautiful views over the Gulf of Porto Vecchio.

From the Col de Bavella, take the alpine variant of the GR 20 that passes at the foot of the "towers". It's an Alpine route offering beautiful panoramic views of the massif and the eastern plain. The return to the pass is via the classic GR 20, a balcony path overlooking the Alta Rocca region. 

The Cuscionu plateau lies at an altitude of 1600 metres. You'll come across horses, pigs, sheep and cows grazing freely on the grassy meadows (pozzine). From the Croci sheepfolds, take the GR 20 to the ridge above the Asinao valley. The summit of Incudina, at 2134 m, is a superb lookout point over the Corsican massifs. 

From the Col de Verde, in the heart of a centuries-old forest, follow the GR 20 to the famous Prati refuge, from which you can see the sea if the weather is clear. You can continue along the ridges, which offer magnificent views over the eastern plain, as far as Punta Della Cappella (2041 m).

In the morning, you'll head for the Capanelle ski resort, situated at 1586m. This will be the starting point for your ascent of Monte Renoso (2352 m). You will follow the connecting route that joins the alpine variant of the GR 20. This alpine route will take you past the magnificent Lake Bastani (2089 m) before you reach the ridge and the summit.

You will take the road to the Vizzavona pass (1163 m). This is an opportunity to discover a magnificent mountain road winding through villages. From the pass, take the lost woman's path to join the GR 20 at Bocca Palmente, at 1650 m. Here you'll enjoy beautiful views over the eastern plain and the Monte d'Oro massif, before returning down the GR 20 to the Vizzavona pass.
