Corte
Check-in at your hotel in the centre of the island in Corte, the historic capital of Corsica. After settling in at your hotel, you'll stroll through the narrow streets where the past and the present mingle: its old stone houses, its citadel, its craft workshops, its anthropology museum and its university, thanks to our app. For those arriving in Corte the day before or in the morning, we suggest a hike in the Tavignano gorges. For centuries, this valley was a communication and transhumance route. Numerous relics bear witness to the importance of this passageway in the heart of a beautiful valley. The Tavignanu is an invitation to swim.
Corte to Calacuccia
In the morning, transfer to the entrance to the Scala Santa Régina. This ancient transhumance path, carved out of a granite canyon above the River Golu, provided access to the Niolu, where some of Corsica's highest villages are now located.
Calacuccia to Vergio
Climb to the Col de Vergio along an old transhumance trail. From sheepfold to sheepfold, you'll discover what life was like for the shepherds. You will then join the legendary GR 20 to reach the Vergio pass.
Vergio to Evisa
You'll descend the path from the Col de Vergio along the River Aïtone and its famous natural pools to the village of Evisa. This is a transitional stage between the high mountains and the Gulf of Porto.
Evisa to Porto
You'll walk along the Mare et Monti trail through the Spelunca gorges and its ancient Genoese bridges to the picturesque village of Ota (340 m). Then arrive in a unique setting overlooking the Gulf of Porto, with its magnificent pink cliffs plunging into the sea.
2024: Due to the damages caused by the severe storms in November 2023 the upper part of the Spelunca Valley is not accessible, a transfer will take you to the lower part in the morning from where you will be able to hike to Porto via Ota.
Piana to Porto
Transfer to one of France's most beautiful villages, Piana. You can visit the village before setting off to discover the natural site of the Calanques de Piana. A mass of red rock plunging into the Gulf of Porto. The hike offers beautiful panoramic views before descending to the Porto marina.
Porto to Serriera Bussaglia
You will leave Porto and cross the Vitrone ravine, with its red porphyry walls, before arriving at Capu San Petru, a superb rocky lookout point overlooking Serriera and the surrounding area. Arrive in Serriera via the Lonca forest road.
Serriera to Girolata
Early morning transfer to reach the entrance to the village of Partinello. The route leads through fragrant scrubland down to the seafront, winding along the jagged coastline before climbing back up to Bocca Croce. There is an exceptional view of the Scandola nature reserve, one of Europe's major natural sites, offering an explosion of colours and landscapes. Follow the balcony path to Girolata, a small fishing hamlet inaccessible by road.
Girolata to Galéria
The route reaches the Crête du Lucciu (697 m), offering a unique view of the Gulf of Girolata and its red granite cliffs. Descend to Galéria along the Tavulaghju stream.
Galéria to Tuarelli - Transfer to Calvi
The path climbs up through the scrubland, past ancient sheepfolds where you can admire beautiful views over the Gulf of Galéria, then descends towards the Fangu to reach Ponte Vecchju. After arriving in Tuarelli, transfer to Calvi. Holiday ends upon arrival in Calvi.
