Tailor made adventure in a global pandemic

Matt & Philippa had walked the GR20 long before the family came along, now with four teens in tow they were looking for an out of the ordinary adventure, that combined the GR20 with some canyoning and multi-activities in the south of the island. Normally travelling further afield to far flung adventure destinations including camping on the Inca trail in the Andes, their holiday plans were like others, changed by a global pandemic.

Their Corsica Adventure

We organised a tailored GR20 followed by some of the best GR20 sections, followed by some time in the Alta Rocca, trying some fantastic activities based in comfortable accommodation.

Matt, said "Holiday was great! Back home now and working sadly! We had a really amazing time. The trek was fantasic and the canyoning at Vacca Canyon was just extraordinary – best canyon I have ever been to! Huge thanks for all your help – really a fantastic (and extremely smooth) trip (pity about the quarantining now!). What a wonderful place Corsica is!"

A GR20 trip for Dex and team

Looking for a GR20 event for a team, Dex found Corsica Aventure and discussed his specific requirements for this group of military personnel, wanting to cover as much terrain as possible in their limited time frame.

Their Corsica Aventure

We tailored a GR20 trek to suit their group, allowing them to excel on some of the most impressive stages of this route. Their back to basics trek allowed them to climb the highest peaks and really challenge their team!

Dex said, "I approached Corsica Adventure, to see if they could help with the trekking route GR20. They where fantastic, the agent who I was dealing with was extremely helpful and the value was spot on. The stages and the hike, one word. Fantastic! Overall accomodation was good, I had no issues with bed bugs and all was clean. Overall the food was fuel, and to that end was very good."

Orienteering Adventure in the Golu

For an out of the ordinary family holiday for a family keen on adventures and looking for a challenging hike, Emily was looking for a back to nature kind of trek. As a family of four, all fit walkers, they were looking for a 4 day mountain adventure, staying in refuges on the GR20.

Their Corsica Aventure

We tailored a GR20 outing to suit a family with two daughters, who were used to the great outdoors, taking in some of the highlights of the GR20 North from the Golo Valley, to Ciottollu refuge, then down to Vallone, before heading back to the Golo Valley.

Emily, said "We had a fabulous trip and the walk was definitely a highlight. The girls loved it and the scenery and experience was stunning. Lots of swimming and jumping into pools helps! Many thanks for all your help."

A la carte circuit tailored to challenge and savour !

For a 10 year anniversary trip for a group of who walked the Haute Route in 2007, Mark, Nigel, Alex and Peter were all fit and adventurous and really wanted to do something that was “a challenge” whilst experiencing the best of Corsica.

Their Corsica Adventure

We organised a tailored comfort version of the Mare e Monti (Coastal walking that is the best walking off the GR20) and Mare a Mare North back to back, including some of the best accommodation en route, and in October they were well off the beaten track.

Nigel, said "I just wanted to write and say thank you for ensuring that we had a simply wonderful  time on our recent  trip to Corsica. I have to say that all your arrangements were really well organised  and as far as I can tell everything worked perfectly  even the taxi drivers. The walking was simply stunning and  certainly some of the best I have ever done: you had clearly put a lot of thought into the route. I feel that every single walk that you had planned  had something different to offer and all showed Corsica in a wonderful  light. Thank you again for your hard work and organisation; I will definitely be recommending you to my friends and I feel sure that we will see you again some time."

Strive the GR20

Corsica Adventure had a very clear brief to assist with the organisation of the event in Corsica; from managing the itinerary and guides for 4 groups of 12 VIP hikers, over a challenging part of the GR20 North route from south to north, finishing at the coast and Porto.

The aim was to accomplish this without using any form of transport between the various stopovers. A challenge we were ready to rise to and the participants all surpassed themselves too!

Their Corsica Adventure

On the 8th September 2018, we welcomed the STRIVE event to the Col de Vizzavona, a high mountain road pass in the centre of Corsica. A month-long adventure that started in Southern Sardinia, crossed Corsica, via the GR20 North and finished on the summit of Mont Blanc. The idea was for a group of participants to cycle, kayak and walk along the various sections, with the aim of raising money for their charity, called ‘Big Change.’ The money raised is used for a variety of carefully chosen projects that  support young people and help them thrive in life. At the end of most  walking days, there was a presentation which provided insight into the latest project development.
