Day 1 - Ajaccio to Golfe de Porto

Meet at 14h30 at Ajaccio railway station in the heart of Ajaccio, or directly at the base, on the banks of the Prunelli. Welcome and presentation of the trip and preparation of kayaks for the journey. Leave by minibus for the Gulf of Porto, then a warm up 30-minute paddleto reach the beach at Bussaglia. Dinner and overnight in bivouac under the stars on the beach at Bussaglia.

Day 2 - Porto - Tuara - Girolata

Discover the Gulf of Porto in its intimacy, with its sea caves, you follow this unspoilt coast of creeks and sea cliffs to the hamlet of Girolata. Only accessible by the sea or on foot, the hamlet has a sleepy feel once the boats leave for the evening. Dinner and overnight in a bivouac on the beach.

Day 3 - Girolata - Scandola - Girolata

Today we discover the Scandola Natural reserve, navigating among the majestic walls of granite. The Scandola Marine Reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, protected to preserve the flora and fauna. Dinner and overnight in bivouac on the beach.

Day 4 - Girolata - Figadjola - Arone

We now kayak South, crossing the Gulf of Porto to join the famous beach of Ficaghjola nestled under the sea cliffs of Piana. After the picnic, we head around the coast in the direction of the beach at Arone passing by the majestic Capo Rosso with its high cliffs, an unforgettable journey in the middle of red granite cathedrals. Dinner and overnight in bivouac on the beach of Arone.

Day 5 - Arone - Cargèse - Stagnola

We will travel on from the beautiful beach at Arone and will follow the coast past numerous watchtowers until we reach the port of Cargèse from where we will discover this ancient Greek city where Christian and Orthodox rites coexist. Dinner and night in bivouac on the beach of Stagnola.

Day 6 - Stagnola - Sagone - Liamone

For this days paddling, we will follow beautiful beaches of golden sand, typical of this coast, enjoying swimming enroute and a beautiful sunset. Dinner and overnight bivouac on the long beach of Liamone.

Day 7 - Liamone - Tiuccia - Liscia

This last day will take us to the beautiful beach of Liscia for a last picnic on the beach. Mini bus transfer to the base and then a transfer to Ajaccio around 16:30.

This itinerary is correct at time of publication. Should situations arise that are beyond our control, such as severe weather conditions, or other such factors that could put your safety at risk, the itinerary may be modified.

On our guided tours reservations are possible from a single person.

The OPEN departures indicate the dates of which the minimum number of participants is reached and on which there is still room! If a date is indicated as a CLOSED departure, the maximum number of participants is already reached. In this case, please contact us before making your reservation because places can be freed.

Full board in wild camps under the stars, local transfers by minibus, kayak guide, use of kayaking equipment. We will provide you with one-seater sea kayaks or two-seater sea kayaks.

Sunday at 14h30 Ajaccio station or 15h00 at the base.

Ends

Saturday around 16h30 Ajaccio station.

Access

Ajaccio Airport or Port. Air tickets and boat reservations available, please ask for a quotation.

Accommodation
  • Bivouac under the stars (tents provided in times of bad weather).
  • Continental breakfast, picnics and hot evening meals prepared together in the evening.

Please note there are very limited facilities and the camping is wild, no showers or toilets on this route, you will need a salt water soap that you can find at ship chandlers.

Number of participants

Groups of 6 participants minimum. NB. You must be able to swim at least 25m and be able to put your head under water to undertake this trip.

You must be able to swim at least 25m and be able to put your head under water to undertake this trip. This trip is not suitable for beginners. Participants from 14 years of age, sea kayaking stages of 3 to 5 hours per day.

Guiding

Fully Qualified French Sea Kayak Guide (English speaking). We will do an average of 3 to 5 hours of kayaking a day, accompanied by possible walks to appreciate the area.

Luggage transfers

Your luggage is placed in a waterproof canyon bag and transported in your kayak, take only the bare minimum.

Your website says: Group guided trip with English speaking guide. This was not the case for my trip ! Our Guide Renaud was fantastic. He really put his clients first. He was also knowledgeable about the area.
