New for 2019, this walking mini-break takes in the colours and landscapes of this most remote part of Corsica's coastline. Thanks to the protection of the Conservatoire du Littoral, this wild region is untouched. Have a real adventure and stay in the beautifully restored working lighthouse at Capu di Senetosa, surrounded by taffoni wind shaped rocks, fields of immortelle, and remote coves, all swept by the light from the Phare. The short break finishes in style in the cliff top fortress town of Bonfacio, with yet more coastal walking. A wonderful discovery of Corsica's South, ideal for all.

Day 1 - Propriano

Arrive in Corsica, pick up your hire car and drive to the coast of the Golfe of Valinco and the seaside town of Propriano. En route you could walk to the tower at Capu di Muro, discover the sublime beach at Cupabia or explore the neolithic site at Filitosa or Cauria. Time to explore the town before choosing your restaurant on the harbour. Stay at 3* Hotel, Propriano on a B&B Basis.

Day 2 – Campomoro to Senetosa

Drive the short distance to Campomoro to arrive at the trailhead. You won’t see your luggage tonight and you will need to carry in provisions for meals. This is a real adventure, you are walking into the most remote lighthouse on Corsica, in an area of truly outstanding beauty. The walk in is over the ridge, with superb views over the coast and an insight into the pastoral origins of this area, through the maquis to deserted coves at the Capu di Senetosa. Round the headland you walk through fields of immortelle, before catching sight of the lighthouse, nestled in the rocks.  This is a truly wonderful spot as the sun sets, a unique setting, night in a simple twin room at Senetosa lighthouse on B&B basis.

Day 3 –Senetosa to Campomoro

Climb to the Genoese tower high above Senetosa lighthouse, with views over the southern Corsican mountains. Follow the ridge before dropping down to Cala di Conca bay, your coastal path takes you to all the bays on this remarkable coastline Cala d’Arana, Cala d’Agulia, Canusseddu, all the way to Campomoro. Rocks are shaped by the wind and the sea into some fantastic forms Taffoni, and the sea very tempting for a quick dip. Arrive at Campomoro and the largest Genoese tower on the island. After the adventure, drive at the end of the day via Sartene,to Bonifacio, where you stay in a superb Hotel Santateresa 3* hotel on B&B.

Day 4 –Bonifacio

Bonifacio has a choice of walking, along the clifftops and the coast of this southernmost tip of Corsica. For a longer walk, we can take you to the Hermitage de la Trinité church, to the north of Bonifacio, from where you walk to the Capo di Feno, along a coastal path to Paraguan beach, before heading onto the cliffs near the Iles Fazzio and along towards la Madonette lighthouse. With views over the old town and harbour, for a shorter walk, try the walk on the Campu Rumanilu both are wonderful coastal walks and a great finale to your walking holiday. Stay in Bonifacio or Ajaccio in a 3* hotel, on B&B.

Day 5 – Bonifacio

End of holiday after breakfast, return your car hire to the airport.

Price includes

Accommodation on B&B (days 1, 2, 3 & 4), travel dossier with IGN maps and topo guide, 5 days AVIS car hire (B grade) including collision damage waiver, 2 drivers (over 21), unlimited mileage and the possibility to pick up and drop off at different airports, travel dossier with IGN maps and topo guide.

Car Hire prices includes unlimited mileage, two named drivers per car, Collision Damage Waiver, Theft Protection Cover and tyre and windscreen damage cover, pick up and drop off at different agencies if required (within Corsica). Booster seats and baby seats are available at a supplement. Drivers must be at least 21 years old and have held a full licence (International) for at least 1 year.

Reservation fee of €5pp, travel insurance, drinks, site visits and transfers not included in the program including travel to Corsica. Car hire upgrades available.

Number of participants

Reservations for minimum of 2 participants. NB. For safety reasons we do not accept solo hiker reservations on Self-Guided treks. Ideal for families.

Level

Gentle 3-4 hours of effective walking with ascents. Accessible to occasional walkers and to anyone in good health, you don’t have to be a seasoned hiker to enjoy these walks.

Moderate Involve longer walks, generally from 4-6 hours a day. The nature of the terrain presents little technical difficulty but some previous hill walking experience is useful. The ascents will vary from 400m to 800m altitude gain per day.

Self Guided Walking. We provide you with a Travel Dossier complete with IGN map and Topoguide created by our team. During your hike our 24-hour assistance service will also be able to answer all your questions and, if necessary, bring you useful tips for the smooth running of your stay.

Luggage transfers

You need to carry a small day sack only with a water bottle, camera, picnic and windproof jacket.
