Day 1 - Quenza
Make your way to Quenza, in the heart of the Alta Rocca this village is very typical of the area. Settle into your family run hotel in the heart of the village, well renowned for its hearty cuisine. Depending on the time, you may wish to wander around the village, discover prehistoric sights nearby or simply just cool off in a mountain stream.
Day 2 - Quenza to Bavella
From Quenza, a short taxi transfer takes you up to the Col de Bavella, high above the village of Zonza. You take the GR20 trail along its Alpine variant, leading steeply uphill to the foot of the granite needles. The trail is rough under foot and in parts equipped with chains that help stability across the rocks. The trail then plunges down into the valley before passing through the woods. After a river crossing the GR20 pulls up to Asinau, and Bergerie Chez Aline.

Day 3 - Asinao to Coscione
From the bergerie Chez Aline, the GR20 trail heads up to the magnificent ridge line of Alcudina, the highest summit in the South at 2134m altitude. After a short detour from the GR20, there are fantastic views and you leave the high ground and head down towards the famous Cuscione plateau, a wild open area that is grazing land in the summer months. Your night stop is at Croci shepherd’s cabin situated on the edge of the plateau, one of the best bergeries on the GR20.

Day 4 - Coscione to Quenza
From Croci, you head back to civilisation, first stop the Bergeries at Chirabella, the landscape is rolling and open, and simply magical. The path then follows the ridge on a lesser trodden path, back towards Quenza, and your family run hotel for tonight, enjoy a last evening in the Alta Rocca, contemplating your first taste of the GR20.
